Originally from Beijing, China, Shixing begins her creative process with personal stories, drawing from memories and emotions. Her practice centers on experimentation, of materials and techniques, as ways to explore form and narrative. Through combining materials and techniques, she creates tactile experiences that invite audiences to engage with her story.
Shixing’s goal is to design beyond aesthetics, building intimate, emotional connections and allowing viewers or wearers to experience deeper meanings through the textures and stories woven into each piece.
